Happy feet! I've got those hap-hap-happy feet! Give them a low-down beat And they begin dancing! I've got those ten little tip-tap-tapping toes, When they hear a tune I can't control the dancing, dear, To save my soul!
Those weary blues can't get into my shoes, Because my shoes refuse To ever grow weary. I keep cheerful on an earful Of music sweet; Just got those hap-hap-happy feet!

I was down at the New Amsterdam staring at this yellow-haired girl Mr. Jones strikes up a conversation with this black- haired flamenco dancer She dances while his father plays guitar She's suddenly beautiful We all want something beautiful I wish I was beautiful So come dance this silence down through the morning Cut up, Maria! Show me some of them Spanish dances Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones Believe in me Help me believe in anything I want to be someone who believes Mr. Jones and me tell each other fairy tales Stare at the beautiful women "She's looking at you. Ah, no, no, she's looking at me." Smiling in the bright lights Coming through in stereo When everybody loves you, you can never be lonely I will paint my picture Paint myself in blue and red and black and gray All of the beautiful colors are very very meaningful Gray is my favorite color I felt so symbolic yesterday If I knew Picasso I would buy myself a gray guitar and play Mr. Jones and me look into the future Stare at the beautiful women "She's looking at you. I don't think so. She's looking at me." Standing in the spotlight I bought myself a gray guitar When everybody loves me, I will never be lonely I want to be a lion Everybody wants to pass as cats We all want to be big big stars, but we got different reasons for that Believe in me because I don't believe in anything and I want to be someone to believe Mr. Jones and me stumbling through the barrio Yeah we stare at the beautiful women "She's perfect for you, Man, there's got to be somebody for me." I want to be Bob Dylan Mr. Jones wishes he was someone just a little more funky When everybody loves you, son, that's just about as funky as you can be Mr. Jones and me staring at the video when I look at the television, I want to see me staring right back at me We all want to be big stars, but we don't know why and we don't know how But when everybody loves me, I'm going to be just about as happy as I can be Mr. Jones and me, we're gonna be big stars...

Why drink the water from my hand? Contagious as you think I am Just tilt my sun towards your domain. Your cup runneth over again.
Don't scream about Don't think aloud Turn your head now baby Just spit me out Don't worry about Don't speak of doubt Turn your head now baby Just spit me out
Why follow me to higher ground? Lost as you swear I am. Don't throw away your basic needs, Ambiance and vanity.
December promise you gave unto me December whispers of treachery December clouds are now covering me December songs no longer I sing

It’s hard for some people to go through a day When everything goes the opposite way Might be a whole year before you find some sun But you won’t get anywhere playing with a loaded gun
Just look over there, she’s been lying there since noon Rest in Peace, never again, ten billion heartbeats too soon She could have told someone how she felt inside How her life was a burned out theme park with one dark ride Could she have held out through the rest of her storm Of hate, of fate, a test of all the social norms
Hey, if you can’t see above the hill You’ve got shoes that you just can’t fill An open field and you’re stuck in a hedge The answers not the ledge
It was a terrible way to go through life She never knew that success couldn’t come without strife If there was a God, she never knew he was there Always stuck, always stuck, right in first gear
Hey, if you can’t see above the hill You’ve got shoes that you just can’t fill An open field and you’re stuck in a hedge The answers not the ledge
It’s only over when you’re six feet below And then I’m not sure exactly where we go But I know we can make it anywhere we please If each day we make bright and fully seize Now I’m not saying take that money from those trees And buy all the happiness the world has, just as a tease That green won’t bring her back to walk this earth once again But you, you are what can

Here we stand World's apart, hearts broken in two Sleepless nights Losing ground I'm reaching for you
Feelin' that it's gone Can change your mind If we can't go on To survive the tide love divides
*Someday love will find you Break those chains that bind you One night will remind you How we touched and went our separate ways If he ever hurts you True love won't desert you You know I still love you Though we touched and went our separate ways
Troubled times Caught between confusion and pain Distant eyes Promises we made were in vain
If you must go, I wish you love You'll never walk alone Take care my love Miss you love
(*chorus*)
I still love you girl I really love you girl And if he ever hurts you True love won't desert you No....no...

After school Walking home Fresh dirt under my fingernails And I can smell hot asphalt Cars screech to a halt to let me pass And I cannot remember What life was like through photographs And trying to recreate images life gives us from our past
And sometimes it's a sad song
But I cannot forget Refuse to regret So glad I met you and Take my breath away Make everyday Worth all of the pain that I have Gone through And mama I've been cryin' Cause things ain't how they used to be She said the battles almost won And we're only several miles from the sun
Moving on down the street I see people I won't ever meet Think of her, take a breath Feel the beat in the rhythm of my steps And sometimes it's a sad song
But I cannot forget Refuse to regret So glad I met you and Take my breath away Make everyday Worth all of the pain that I have Gone through And mama I've been cryin' Cause things ain't how they used to be She said the battles almost won And we're only several miles from the sun
The rhythm of her conversation The perfection of her creation The sex she slipped into my coffee The way she felt when she first saw me Hate to love and love to hate her Like a broken record player Back and forth and here and gone And on and on and on and on
But I cannot forget Refuse to regret So glad I met you and Take my breath away Make everyday Worth all of the pain that I have Gone through And mama I've been cryin' Cause things ain't how they used to be She said the battles almost won And we're only several miles She said the battles almost won And we're only several miles from the sun

Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide. So we've been told and some choose to believe it. I know they're wrong, wait and see. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me.
Who said that every wish would be heard and answered when wished on the morning star? Somebody thought of that and someone believed it. Look what it's done so far. What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing and what do we think we might see? Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me.
All of us under its spell. We know that it's probably magic.
Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices? I've heard them calling my name. Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors. The voice might be one and the same. I've heard it too many times to ignore it. It's something that I'm supposed to be. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me.

I felt like starting this thread back up again.
I must've dreamed a million dreams; Been haunted by a million screams; But I can hear the marching feet; They're moving, into the street.
Now, did you hear the news today? They say the danger's gone away, But I can see the fire's still alight; It's burning, into the night.
There's too many men; Too many people; Making too many problems, And not much love to go around; Can't you see this is a land of confusion.
This is the world we live in, And these are the hands we're given; Use them and let's start trying, To make it a place worth living in.
Ooh Superman where are you now? When everything's gone wrong somehow; The men of steel, the men of power, Are losing control by the hour.
This is the time, This is the place, So we look for the future, But there's not much love to go round, Tell me why, this is a land of confusion.
This is the world we live in, And these are the hands we're given, Use them and let's start trying, To make it a place worth living in.
I remember long ago... Oooh, when the sun was shining, Yes, and the stars were bright, All through the night, And the sound of your laughter, As I held you tight, So long ago...
I won't be coming home tonight, My generation will put it right! We're not just making promises, That we know, we'll never keep.
Too many men, There's too many people, Making too many problems, And not much love to go round, Can't you see, This is a land of confusion.
Now this is the world we live in, And these are the hands we're given, Use them and let's start trying, To make it a place worth fighting for.
This is the world we live in, And these are the names we're given, Stand up and let's start showing, Just where our lives are going to!
